Yoga Therapy

HEALING FOR THE WHOLE SELF

Yoga Therapy (YT) is the application of Yoga to empower people to progress toward greater health, freedom from disease, and a more joyous quality of life. A YT session more closely resembles a session with a physical therapist or rehabilitation specialist than a typical yoga class. As a yoga therapist I set myself apart by focusing on the whole individual. Healing modalities stemming from yogic philosophies such as Ayurvedic nutrition, meditation, breath work, yoga postures, and more are used. YT is the place where self-care for mind, body, AND soul meet as one.

THE GORY DETAILS...

TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:

Adina is a certified RYT 500, yoga therapist. She received her training from Mary Irby whom has 30+ years of experience. Mary studied in India, where she followed Thiramoolar's Therapeutic Ashtanga Yoga.

APPROACH:

Adina uses a simple approach that is rooted in consistent small changes that lead to big changes and always emphasizes gentleness. I teach and empower self-healing. An individualized program is created for each client that meets them where they are and aids them in journeying to where they desire to be. Adina's programs rely on commitment from the client as the ultimate goal is self-healing, self-reliance, and consistent self-care.  Together we take on a journey of preventive care to avoid invasive western medical remedies in the long run.

YOGA vs. YT:

A skilled yoga therapist differs greatly from a yoga teacher. YT offers much more than breathing, meditation, and yoga poses. A skilled yoga therapist provides clients with a range of tools for developing and maintaining a healthy, whole, and joyous quality of life in a way that THEY need it. YT is a personalized and unique approach to rehabilitation, care, and healing.
